Mobile Aerospace Engineering, Inc.

Mobile Aerospace Engineering Inc. (MAE), was set up in September 1990 by Singapore Technologies Aerospace LTD., an established aircraft engineering company operating in the Asian Pacific region. Singapore Technologies Aerospace established MAE as a foothold in the United States to serve the North and South American market. This was part of its strategy to diversify into commercial aircraft maintenance and to meet the worldwide demands for third party aircraft maintenance and modifications work.

MAE is fully certified by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) as a CLASS 4 Repair Station to perform a complete range of aircraft inspections, maintenance and modification services. MAE specializes in heavy maintenance and modification of narrow and wide body aircraft ranging from Airbus A300, A310, A319/320, A330, A340 to Boeing B727, B737, B747, B757, B767, DC9/MD80, DC10/MD10 and MD11. The range of services includes heavy maintenance inspection and checks, life extension work on aging aircraft, corrosion prevention and control programs, major structural work and modifications, passenger to freighter conversions, avionics modifications, non-destructive testing, painting and finishing, complete interior refurbishing or reconditioning and fleet standardization. MAE maintains a quality system in conformance to ISO 9001:2000 and AS 9100:2004.

The MAE facility is strategically located in Mobile on the southern coast of Alabama at the Brookley Industrial Complex. Mobile was selected among several other sites because there were two B747 size hangars already available with ample land on the vicinity for future growth. The Brookley airfield also has 9,600-foot runway complete with an Instrument Landing System (ILS). MAEs facilities now consist of nine hangars with 671,000 square feet of hangar space, 150,000 square feet of support shops and 60,000 square foot dedicated wash and strip rack. The maintenance hangars can easily accommodate eight wide-body aircraft (up to B747/777) and ten narrow-body aircraft simultaneously.

Singapore Technologies Aerospace is made up of a group of companies that together offer a unique and wide range of products and services. This includes heavy aircraft maintenance, structural modification and refurbishment, aircraft engine and aerocomponent overhaul and repair and aircraft avionics system design and integration. MAE brings along with it the reputation and commitment of Singapore Technologies Aerospace to provide its customers with quality, reliability and service excellence.

MAE maintains a work force of over 1400 technical, engineering and administrative personnel, comprised mainly of licensed Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) aircraft mechanics. Since its inception in 1991, MAE has established itself as a leading third party aircraft maintenance and overhaul facility in the USA. Among its customers are airlines and chartered operators, freight carriers and leasing companies.

The business of MAE is selling aircraft maintenance and modification services; the companys success depends largely on our work force producing quality and on time maintenance services efficiently. With its parent company in Singapore, MAE enjoys excellent continual support from the Singapore Technologies Aerospace group of companies. MAE can draw on their skills and experience as required and can count on sending some of its work force to Singapore for on-the-job training and job enhancement.

Together with Singapore Technologies Aerospace group, MAE is committed to meeting the long-term needs of the aviation industry. It is continually strengthening its capabilities to remain at the forefront of the aerospace technologies. MAE has developed a work force that is highly skilled, technically competent and extremely motivated. The company takes special pride in maintaining a high standard of quality workmanship and reliability, which has won many satisfied customers.
