Jet Aeronautical LLC

Jet Aeronautical LLC was founded by Steven W. Scates, an accomplished professional pilot who has served as a captain for both FAR 121 and FAR 135 Airlines. Steven is a San Diego native and graduate of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s Prescott Campus in 1994. Jet Aeronautical is a current member of NBAA and SDRAA and is active within the business aviation community as it relates to training.

Jet Aeronautical was founded on the basis of providing advanced flight training in the most realistic and safest manner possible in Cessna Citation (Both 500 & 525 Series) and Beechcraft King Air (90, 100 & 200 Series) Aircraft. Jet Aeronautical has taken a different approach than other training facilities. Use only qualified instructors who have the ability and desire to take a student from no Citation or King Air time and make them a safe and knowledgeable pilot. Let the student get up close with the aircraft. Do an actual pre-flight, don’t just watch a slide show. Use the actual aircraft as a Cockpit Procedures Trainer. Jet Aeronautical students get a “hands on” experience with the aircraft they are training in. This “hands on” experience is backed up with a classroom training environment that is second to none.

Jet Aeronautical is also involved in mentoring programs that allow owner/pilots to receive turbine training prior to the arrival of their VLJ and save the cost of the training in their first year insurance premiums. This program is a direct result of interaction with aviation insurance companies.

Although a majority of Jet Aeronautical training is done in the aircraft, we do understand and appreciate the value of simulators. Jet Aeronautical currently uses a simulator for the purpose of training important procedures and profiles before a student gets in the aircraft. It can’t be over-stated too much, that students that come to Jet Aeronautical will be challenged before they get in the aircraft, as well as during aircraft training and on to the final check-ride. Jet Aeronautical is a firm believer that a combination of both simulator and “in-aircraft” training offers the best results for students.

In addition to a “hands on” learning environment, what makes Jet Aeronautical different than all other training facilities? The amount of personalized service you receive while attending Jet Aeronautical. Steven Scates, the President of Jet Aeronautical will be involved with your training from day one until completion. From teaching courses to arranging and flying check rides with the FAA or DPE, Steven has direct control over the quality of the product at Jet Aeronautical and it shows. Check with the other training facilities and ask a few pointed questions regarding daily involvement of key people within the organization and then give Jet Aeronautical a call.

Steven is the Founder and President of Jet Aeronautical. Steven is accomplished in many different areas of the aviation industry. Having flown as a FAR 121 and FAR 135 Captain, Steven knows and appreciates the demands made of an experienced pilot. As a former aviation underwriter for USAIG’s Pasadena office, Steven knows the aviation insurance industry, as well. Steven provided risk management and underwriting solutions for some of USAIG’s biggest corporate customers. A graduate of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s Prescott, Arizona campus in 1994, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Aeronautical Science and a minor in Aviation Safety, Steven has flown and is rated in the following aircraft:

CE 500, CE 525, BAE 4100, B737, HS 125, IA 1124, BE 200, BE 90, BE 100.
