FTS International

Why CAPT ?

FTS International's sole purpose is to train pilots to fly the world's most advanced aircraft. The program combines superior aeronautical academics with advanced flight simulation in a proficiency-based flight training environment.

A CAPT graduate is a highly skilled pilot having the flight and academic credentials needed to compete in today's airline industry career opportunities. CAPT's training standards far exceed the minimum FAA requirements. The result after training is a fully qualified pilot who has been deeply immersed in the commercial airline culture and who holds a DC-9 Series type rating.

What Makes CAPT Flight Training so Distinctive?

The CAPT Program was conceived and designed by flying captains at major airlines and developed at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, The World’s Leader in Aerospace & Aviation Education.

In 2002, with more than 80 years of aviation training experience, Embry-Riddle created this advanced 12-14 month ab-initio training program called the Commercial Airline Pilot Training Program, or CAPT Program. FTS International recognized the world class quality of the training curriculum, and acquired the entire program and facilities from the university in August of 2006.

CAPT has a renowned, skilled, and certified faculty. All jet flight instructors have professional backgrounds as commercial airline jet pilots. Pilots are trained in new Cirrus SR20-G2, the twin-engine Piper Seminole aircraft, and an advanced Boeing level-D full-flight simulator.

Purpose-specific training concentrates on airline pilot skills. All graduates have a DC-9 Series type rating and have passed the Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) and Dispatcher written exams.

"Training is awesome. Currently, we are a week into systems. I am surprised at how easily I'm grasping the 747 systems. I think the MD-90 ground school prepared me for any air transport systems."

Nick McLean, Focus Air Cargo

Screening and Selection of Pilot Candidates

Our admission process was developed in association with the airlines, so it mirrors their hiring processing. If you pass our screening and selection process, you're qualified to pass the screening and selection process of the airlines.

Purpose-Specific Flight Training

Flying advanced, computerized jet aircraft requires advanced skills, and CAPT focuses on teaching those skills from day one. You'll be ready to fly for the airlines as soon as you graduate.
