Ameriflight, Inc.
Ameriflight, Inc. is a certificated Air Carrier operating under Part 135 of the Federal Aviation Regulations. We serve major commercial banking consortia, independent financial institutions, priority freight forwarding companies, and other business customers. Ameriflight operates from major bases in Burbank, Billings, Cincinnati, Dallas, Oakland, Ontario, Phoenix, Portland, Salt Lake City and Seattle with domiciles throughout the United States. Our fleet of 170-plus aircraft make more than 525 daily departures, flying approximately 115,000 hours per year to serve more than 250 communities throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico. At Ameriflight we have built our reputation and a satisfied customer base on an unwavering commitment to service. Our large fleet makes Ameriflight the largest cargo airline in the country operating under Part 135 of the Federal Aviation Regulations. Our fleet of Learjet 35s, Embraer Brasilias, Fairchild Metro IIIs and Expediters, Beech 99s and 1900s, Cessna 402s, Piper Chieftains/Navajos and Lances assures an unparalleled ability to respond to our customers' needs. Our leadership role extends beyond fleet size and area served; our goal is to set an FAR 135 air cargo benchmark for best service, reliability, and value for our customers while maintaining excellent employee working conditions, benefits, and safety. The following is a brief description of the services Ameriflight provides:
One facet of our business provides a network of flights to transport checks and other documents between small community branch banks and computer processing centers in large cities. While we perform this service in other areas, the majority of the branch bank flying operates the western United States. Flying outbound from Ameriflight bases on weekday mornings (and on limited weekends), these aircraft return after banking hours in the evening.
As a complement to the daytime branch banking business, Ameriflight provides service five nights per week up and down the West Coast for financial and courier customers. Shuttling between Burbank, Oakland, Portland, Seattle, Salt Lake City, Las Vegas, and Phoenix with Beech 99's, 1900's and Fairchild Metro IIIs, we move over 75,000 pounds of documents and data a day. Four nights a week we also provide East Coast service to Columbus, OH and Teterboro, NJ, continuing to Atlanta and back across the country via Dallas and Phoenix. A large portion of Ameriflight’s daily activity provides small package feeder aircraft for overnight parcel carriers. Every morning our airplanes meet our customers' large cargo jet freighters at distribution hubs around the country and load next-day-delivery packages for small communities where limited volume or lack of facilities precludes the use of a large aircraft.
The support group for all of the above activities consists of an Operations and Customer Service Department to schedule and track the daily flights, insuring that the customers' needs are satisfied. Our Flight Department hires, trains and maintains a flight crew roster of approximately 250 pilots. More than 165 mechanics and support personnel in Ameriflight's Maintenance Department track, maintain, and modify aircraft for cargo service. Other departments consist of Parts/Purchasing, which carries an aircraft spare parts inventory valued at more than $10 million; Accounting and Data Processing, which processes approximately 7,000 documents per month; Line Service, which pumps in excess of 300,000 gallons of fuel per month; and our Human Resources Department, which assists over 650 Ameriflight employees in personnel administration and employee relations matters to help foster an environment of recognition and support of human value at the work place. |
